Goal of project was to create an environment that would demonstrate state change in the textures of organic materials. I chose to go with decay.
The idea behind this project is what the shrine would have looked like when it was being used regularly as a place of offering, versus what it would look like after years of neglect, with people offering foods that have gone bad instead of the best pieces of that year's harvest.
